PRPA Announces New Interim President
EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 12, 2025
PRINCE RUPERT, BRITISH COLUMBIA – The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) announced today that Kurt Slocombe has been appointed by the Board of Directors as Interim President effective January 1st, 2026.
Mr. Slocombe joined PRPA in 2019 as Vice President, Operations, Planning and Infrastructure. He has an extensive background in gateway operations. Residing in Prince Rupert with his family since 2007, Mr. Slocombe moved to the community as part of the team that started operations at the then newly converted Fairview Container Terminal. During his time at the Terminal, he held successive roles including Director of Operations and Director, Gateway Operations Centre, a joint venture between DP World and CN.
“Kurt is a proven leader who is well equipped to lead PRPA through this transition period,” said Peter Lantin, Board Chair, Prince Rupert Port Authority. “We sincerely thank retiring President and CEO, Shaun Stevenson, for his vision, passion, and dedication to advancing the Port of Prince Rupert.”
The Board of Directors is currently conducting a comprehensive search for a new President and CEO and remains committed to ensuring a smooth transition.
