Scholarships

The Prince Rupert Port Authority awards two annual scholarships of $5,000 each to two Grade 12 graduates from Charles Hays Secondary School. Preference is given to applicants pursuing a career that will support the transportation industry and includes such disciplines as international business, trade, logistics, marketing, engineering, communications, finance, accounting, law, etc. Preference will also be given to candidates that demonstrate a desire to practice their chosen profession in communities in northern British Columbia following post-secondary graduation. 

Bursaries

Four bursaries in the amount of $1,000 each are made available to two students of Charles Hays Seconday School and two students of the Coast Tsimshian Academy (Lax Kw’alaams). The bursary is tenable for the first year at college or post-secondary (non-university) institutions.

The purpose of the bursary is to encourage and financially assist high school graduates in the Prince Rupert area to obtain a trade, technology or business career.
