The Prince Rupert Port Authority is an active champion in youth engagement for the benefit of all of our stakeholders. We have a variety of programs in place to support students and youth.
Rising Tide & Voyage to Excellence
The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) believes that supporting youth in their pursuit of excellence in sports, education, arts and culture is integral to building the next generation of leaders. We offer two streams of financial support targeted at youth:
The Rising Tide program encourages every young person’s curiosity for trying new things and building confidence through achievement and success.
The Voyage to Excellence program gives youth that make it to the top of their field the ability to experience higher levels of competition and reward their long hours of dedication and talent development.
Port Interpretive Centre
Interactive Student Tours
The Port Interpretive Centre hosts scheduled student tours that allow guests to touch, feel, and read their way through the Port of Prince Rupert. The trade route simulator is an interactive display that invites you to explore the hundreds of different products that move through Prince Rupert, and find out where they come from, where they’re going, and what kind of vessels are used to move them. The harbour history timeline encourages visitors to travel through 10,000 years of local trade history and discover this region’s fascinating evolution from First Nations trade routes to railways and the North American Gateway.
