The @RupertRampage Fights Cancer campaign has broken its fundraising record with support from @rupertport

Our Community Investment Fund has matched the generous donations from community members and local businesses to help purchase new surgical equipment for #PrinceRupert Regional Hospital.

With this contribution, we`ve now committed over $1 million to local healthcare projects through partnerships with the North Coast Health Improvement Society, @northernhealthbc and Prince Rupert and District Hospice Society.

Special thanks to the fans who helped us kick off this season`s initiative: PRPA & Rampage Fight Cancer Together! We`ll have more limited edition, hot pink toques for sale at the next Rampage home game on November 9th. 100% of the proceeds go to this year`s fundraising efforts.

The Prince Rupert Port Authority extends its condolences to the family and community members of Sim’oogit Wiidildal, Waap Łagaax Gisbutwada, Chief Don Roberts of Kitsumkalum First Nation, who passed away last month.

Chief Roberts was a passionate and dedicated hereditary and elected leader with an extensive knowledge of Ts’msyen history, who made immeasurable contributions to his community and the region. His legacy of activism and achievements is reflected in the relationships he fostered and his commitment to the wellbeing and growth of his community.

#TBT The 11th Prince Rupert Scout group is gearing up for another season.

Back in 2019, with assistance from the @rupertport`s Community Investment Fund, the local chapter of the Baden-Powell Scouts Associations was able to purchase a new cargo trailer and camping equipment, replacing equipment that was more than 20 years old and securing necessary storage.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we are commemorating and honouring the lost children and survivors of residential schools and their families. Our offices are closed today and will reopen Tuesday October 1st.

We encourage community members to join us at the Truth and Reconciliation Community Walk, hosted by the Friendship House Association of Prince Rupert. It takes place from 12PM-3PM at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre Track & Field. Please wear orange.

#TBT Improvement is always a good target, and in 2019, the Prince Rupert Rod & Gun Club hit the mark by revitalizing their facilities.

With assistance from a Community Investment Fund contribution by the @rupertport, the building was upgraded inside and out, and the rifle range was expanded to 150 metres. The addition of updated lighting, insulation, windows, and a high-efficiency pellet stove also helped the club with a reduction in operating costs.

#TBT School is back in full swing, and the favourable September weather is enabling teachers to host their classes outdoors if they so choose, including at Conrad Elementary.

Back in 2023, the @rupertport, via the Community Investment Fund, teamed up with the @rupertschools` Aboriginal Education Department and other local partners to create a new outdoor classroom and garden, which is officially named `Syndooynm Na K`oom` (garden of hope). The outdoor classroom and garden includes raised planter boxes, wooden picnic tables, and seating, dedicated in creating a safe and accessible area.

#TBT The Trinity Men`s Recovery House serves the community of Prince Rupert and surrounding areas.

Back in 2020, the @rupertport partnered up with the @333recoveryhomessociety and other community partners to invest in upgrading the Recovery House, enabling improved support for new clients and their personal recovery plans. New additions to the existing building included an enhanced reception office, personal lockers, and new outdoor storage. September is Recovery Month in Canada.
