Shipping

Prince Rupert offers tremendous value for transpacific trade. Learn why we can offer unparalleled speed, reach and reliability.

Our Attributes

Shortest Pacific Route

Prince Rupert is the deepest natural harbour in North America, easily accommodating the largest vessels deployed in transpacific trade. No other west coast port comes close.

Safe Access to Shipping Lanes

Prince Rupert is the closest North American west coast port to Asia, with direct access to open water. Approaches and pilotage practices are straightforward.

Deepest Harbour in North America

Prince Rupert is the deepest natural harbour in North America, easily accommodating the largest vessels deployed in transpacific trade. No other west coast port comes close.

CN's Transcontinental Network

Prince Rupert is connected to America's heartland through CN's Class One railroad. The line travels through the lowest rail grade in the Rockies, meaning fast and fuel-efficient container transport.

Community and Labour Support

Innovative terminal design and on-dock rail mean that containers are on the move almost as soon as they're unloaded. This translates to industry-leading dwell times, among the lowest on the west coast.
