Update regarding Hanjin shipping at Port of Prince Rupert (effective September 7, 2016)
EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2016
PRINCE RUPERT, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- The Port of Prince Rupert this morning announced that cargo aboard the Hanjin Scarlet container vessel is currently being handled at Fairview Container Terminal. The vessel berthed at the terminal at 06:00 this morning.
The Hanjin Scarlet container vessel was anchored directly upon arrival at Prince Rupert on August 30, in the wake of reports that Hanjin Shipping had applied for court protection from its creditors.
CN and DP World, the operator of Fairview Container Terminal, have established processes to accommodate the movement of Hanjin containers through the Port of Prince Rupert.
DP World requires pre-payment for handling of all Hanjin containers.
DP World Prince Rupert has established a customer service centre through which arrangements can be made. Cargo owners should telephone +1 250 624-2124 ext. 2333 or email email@example.com.
CN is offering to provide services for the movement of goods in containers discharged at the Port of Prince Rupert to destinations in Canada and the U.S. CN will be publishing relevant rail charges.
Cargo owners are urged to contact CN at firstname.lastname@example.org, including their full name and telephone number, the vessel name carrying Hanjin containers, and the container unit numbers.
