The Prince Rupert Container Terminal
The 24 hectare (59 acre) Prince Rupert Container Terminal is the first dedicated intermodal (ship to rail) container terminal in North America, with the design capacity to move 500,000 TEUs (Twenty Foot Equivalent Units) per year. The terminal was completed in September 2007 and commenced operations with the arrival of COSCO’s Antwerp on October 31, 2007.
